Our columns and half columns make beautiful
decorative features but are not load bearing.
They can be used internally or externally where
no structural support is required. When structural support is
required full columns can be threaded through a supporting steel
or post or, more usually, half columns can be wrapped around a
supporting steel or post.
If you choose to wrap 2 half columns around a
support the maximum diameter of that support must be no more than
the minimum inner diameter for each product (you will find these
quoted under each individual product on the product pages) less
a 5mm allowance for tolerance.
Except with Segmented Columns and some Roman
Columns, each product is made up of 3 pieces: a capital at the
top, a shaft and a base or plinth at the bottom.
Sizes may vary slightly from those quoted
so where exact height is critical advise us when you order so
that we can check sizes before processing your order.
