The Exterior Window Sill 9 is made from a dense type of expanded polystyrene coated with an acrylic resin and quartz powder mix.
These exterior profiles are weatherproof, durable, and easy to install, cut and paint.

The Quartz Effect range of profiles make the perfect External Wall Insulation (EWI) Window Sills too where External Wall Insulation has been added to existing properties as this often results in Decorative Features being lost. And for new builds, the External Wall Insulation isn’t strong enough to hold traditional Heavy Window Sills so ours are the perfect option as they are light and replicate the look and feel of real stone.

The Quartz resin coating is made up of a natural products, as such the colour may vary between batches. Whilst all reasonable steps are taken to try and match the colour, this cannot be guaranteed.

How Durable is the material?
Yes the material is durable and weather resistant due to the Quartz resin coating on the profile and once painted and sealed, this will make it last for many years just like the traditional Stone Mouldings.
Can I have my windows cleaned if I use these mouldings?
Yes certainly, whilst you wouldn’t be able to rest ladders on the Window Sill as our Sills are not load bearing. This shouldn’t be a problem because most window cleaners use long poles which eliminate the need for ladders, if you do require ladders for window cleaning, you could always rest them beneath the window Sill.
How do I finish the ends of the Sills?
As the Polystyrene core can`t be left exposed and must have the Resin Coating as a protective layer. You have two options for finishing the ends.
- At the end of the profile, do a return stop mitre to create the effect that the Window Sill is going back into the Wall.
- Or you can cut the ends at 90 degrees and use our Quartz resin Grout & Touch up to trowel onto the ends. This comes premixed in a 250g pot and will harden once applied to any Exposed End or Joint. To purchase the Grout, please Click Here.
How much Adhesive do I need to use?
For installation cover the entire back of the profile with Kovex No.1 adhesive. For installation and joins allow 4 meters per tube.
