Skirting Board Covers
Removing old skirting boards can be a messy and time-consuming job. The skirting can pull away plaster, damage wallpaper or leave gaps around newly fitted flooring. Our Skirting Board Covers have a hollow void behind them, allowing them to fit over the existing skirting without having to remove it first.
They can also be used to cover any unsightly pipes, cables or tiles. Always check the internal dimensions of the profile to make sure there is enough room behind it for your application.

Disadvantages of Skirting Board Covers:
- May not be as structurally strong as a proper skirting board and is more viewed as a quick fix.
- If not installed correctly and void behind isn`t firmly supported, then it could be more prone to movement if knocked.

Finishing Skirting Covers at doorways
Because the new Skirting Cover is taller and projects further than the existing skirting, it may sit further out than the Door Architrave and it could also have a visible void showing.
Where this occurs, we would recommend a plinth block which would be used at the base of the doorway, ideally removing the bottom section of the architrave and inserting the plinth block.

Our Skirting Board Covers are made from a Toughened High-Grade polymer (not PVC) material which comes pre-primed making it easy to paint unlike Timber which has to be treated for knots first. The strength of the Skirting Board covers enables you to have a slimline skirting which doesn`t take up too much space unlike MDF which can be bulky due to the lack of strength in the material.
How does it work?
Each Skirting Board cover has a hollow section behind it which enables you to put it over your existing Skirting Boards. Saving you time and money compared to removing existing and replacing with new.
Can these be used in bathrooms?
Yes, these skirting covers are perfect for bathrooms and damp areas unlike timber or MDF because they won’t take on any moisture, ensure that the skirting is properly sealed to stop moister and mould forming behind the profile.
Can the skirting be used for hiding radiator pipes?
Yes, as long as there is enough space behind the profile, the skirting covers are perfect for concealing radiator pipes. Ensure that the temperature doesn’t exceed 65 degrees celsius otherwise the product could melt.
