Flexible Coving & Cornice

Our flexible coving brings style to any room, even those with curved walls! Our flexible coving is an ideal solution to rooms where standard straight coving won`t follow the shape of the walls. Made from a special polyurethane rubber polymer (more info here) they can bend to fit both concave and convex walls, so you can install it almost anywhere!

How Flexible Coving Works.

Flexible coving is made for areas where rigid coving would crack, distort, and leave visible gaps. Our flexible coving is made from a bendable polyurethane material, flexible cornice can bend backwards and forwards on itself. This means that it can bend to the shape of a concave or convex curved wall.

Flexible coving profiles are identical in size and shape to their standard (rigid) sister product, but are more expensive, so we recommend that you only use flexible versions where they are needed, and use the standard non-flexible material where they are not.

The critical dimension to note with a flexible cornice is it’s minimum radius. This indicates how tight a bend it can flex to. Don’t try to bend a profile to a tighter curve than it’s minimum radius as this may lead to the material degrading and the profile being pulled out of shape. What is flexible Coving?

Flexible Coving is a bendable ceiling moulding which is designed to go around curved walls, bay windows and uneven ceilings where standard coving won`t fit properly.

Do I need flexible coving for the whole room?

No only use the flexible coving on the curved walls, we supply rigid straight coving in the same size which can be butted up to the flexible coving when going along straight walls. Flexible coving is more expensive than rigid coving.

How to install flexible coving?

We would recommend installing the same way as standard straight coving but one tip for installation is to join the lengths the night before installation so that it makes it easier to install rather than having to try and force the coving into position to match up correctly.

Can flexible coving be painted?

Yes all our coving is supplied pre-primed so can be painted with any good quality paint of your choice.

Minimum Radius & Sizing Cornice

Calculate the radius of your wall first. This is critical as no flexible profile will bend to a tighter radius than the minimum we quote. For details on how to calculate your radius, call or click here.

For sizing, under each profile we show height (how far the cornice extends down the wall from the ceiling) & projection (how far it extends across the ceiling from the wall).
